After years in pre-production, The Batman officially started shooting recently. However, due to a delay caused by the COVID-19 virus outbreak, shooting has been delayed until the end of March. Despite that, once shooting resumes and with Robert Pattinson taking over the title role, fans are anxiously waiting to see how this movie will play out. Fortunately, everything surrounding this film suggests it’ll be a grand slam.

The Iconic Suit

Fans got their first taste of Pattinson as Batman with a special camera test video. The visual showcased Pattinson donning the iconic suit, which is rumored to be influenced by the “Zero Year” graphic novel. As expected, people got excited about what they witnessed. “I’m a big fan of the wider opening in the mask for his jaw, & I like the way the cowl looks like it’s made of pieces of thick leather. I also appreciate the way the suit has accessories built directly into it as well as the armoring. I can’t wait for #TheBatman,” film critic Mark Hughes said on Twitter.

Many critics wrote Pattinson off because of his work on Twilight. Longtime Pattinson fans know the actor has what it takes for the part. “Pattinson’s going to knock it out of the park. If you’ve watched any of his movies other than Twilight, you’d know the top-tier actor he is,” Twitter user @Ivan_H99 said.

Batman Needs a Ride

Batman can’t fight bad guys without the proper vehicle. Set photos show off the Batcycle and Batmobile. With sharp bat ears, the Batcycle will look cool while racing down the street. The Batmobile takes a unique turn this time around. The vehicle looks more like a tank than a regular car. Fans can still expect to see some special gadgets needed to fight crime.

The Right Music for the Job

Composer Michael Giacchino was picked to work on the film’s score. The New Jersey native has collaborated with “The Batman” director Matt Reeves in several movies. Weeks after signing on, Giacchino already finished working on the movie’s theme music. “I’ve already written what will be [the] theme for the movie, because I was so excited about doing it that I just sat down and did it, already. And so, Matt has that in his back pocket right now and is using it just to inspire him as he finishes writing and doing the things he has to do to prepare for directing,” he told WMMR Rocks! In 2010, Giacchino won an Oscar for Best Original Score for “Up.” Their work on “Up” also landed them two Grammy Awards for Best Score Soundtrack Album and Best Instrumental Composition.

What’s The Story About?

“The Batman” won’t be a continuation of what occurred during “Justice League.” This will distance itself from the established DCEU as a detective film. “He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been,” Reeves told the Hollywood Reporter. “I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”

In the film, Batman will face a ton of his biggest foes. Zoë Kravitz will portray Catwoman, who she originally voiced in The Lego Batman Movie. Paul Dano, who earned an Emmy nomination for Escape at Dannemora, will fool the Caped Crusader as The Riddler. John Turturro, who won an Emmy for his work on Monk, will portray crime lord Carmine Falcone. Colin Farrell will take another stab at comic book adaptations as the Penguin.

The Batman is slated to be released on June 25, 2021. The film will kick off another trilogy of Batman films.
