Why Did Yolanda Hadid and David Foster End Their Marriage?

In 2011, reality show star Yolanda Hadid began a new life with record producer David Foster. Unfortunately, things came to a close when the couple filed for divorce in 2015. Now, Hadid has revealed why the couple decided to call it quits.
Saying Their Goodbyes
In an interview with People, Hadid states her Lyme disease is the reason for the couple’s split. “All of a sudden all of the things we shared, all of the things we used to love to do together, go for walks in the morning, having a studio in the house and blasting music all day, having dinner parties, that all shut down,” she told the publication. “I couldn’t participate in that life anymore.”
Hadid was diagnosed with the condition back in 2012. Around the time of the divorce, the condition worsened. “I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter,” Foster wrote in a Bravo TV blog. “It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.” Her condition was revealed to the public on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills“.
The Sad Reality
In her 2017 memoir Believe Me: My Battle With the Invisibility of Lyme Disease, Hadid further explained how things fell apart. “I’m starting to feel that David is unhappy with the fact that I can’t be by his side the way that I used to be. I try to make light of it and joke that he married a lemon. It’s sad but true,” she wrote. “I went from being the funny girlfriend who was up for anything and had endless energy to the wife who is too sick to be by his side.”
Near the memoir’s release, Foster talked about his relationship with the reality show star. “We just always did our best. We had some other issues as well, but everybody’s in a good place now. The main thing is that she’s healthy and in remission. She worked really hard at it and now she’s reaping the rewards of that,” he told Entertainment Tonight. When it came to the memoir, Foster admits to not checking it out, but he’s happy for her success. “She seems to be doing great. She’s healthy and living back east and happy and her kids are doing great, so it’s good,” he also told Entertainment Tonight.
Learning To Love Again
Since the divorce, Foster and Hadid moved on to new relationships. In 2019, Foster married “American Idol” contestant Katharine McPhee in London. Foster first met McPhee while serving as a guest mentor on the singing competition. Before the show, McPhee was unaware of Foster’s popularity until her mother spoke up. “I remember calling her and I was like, ‘Oh my God you’re never going to believe guest mentors this week! It’s Andrea Bocelli, and then there’s this producer that I don’t know, but he’s supposed to be really like amazing and his name’s David Foster,'” she said on the Everything Iconic With Danny Pellegrino podcast. “My mom said, ‘Katharine, you know who David Foster is. You’ve listened to like every artist that he has ever created.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, ok!'” While there’s a 35-year age difference, the two are head over heels for each other.
Hadid started dating businessman Joseph Jingoli last spring. “She wants normalcy in her life and Joseph is very stable and humble. Yolanda spends a lot of time with Joseph on her farm in Pennsylvania, but they have recently been out in NYC for business and to visit their kids,” an unnamed source told E! News. With happiness in their sights, Foster and Hadid are looking forward to their new journeys.
