While Tom Holland is known for playing Spider Man, he’s also known for accidentally spoiling things. For Marvel Studios, leaking information is sometimes detrimental to promotion. Fortunately, they managed to stop him from spoiling the biggest movie in the MCU.

You Can’t Touch This

Endgame co-director Joe Russo went to India for the Avengers: Endgame Indian Anthem event. While talking about the film, Holland’s spoilery behavior came. Russo talked about how he cut Holland off from the rest of the film.

“Yeah, Tom Holland does not get the script. Tom Holland gets his lines and that’s it. He doesn’t even know who he’s acting opposite of. We’ll just, we use like very vague terms to describe to him what is happening in the scene because he has a very difficult time keeping his mouth shut,” he said at the event.

What’s My Motivation?

At last year’s ACE Comic-Con, Holland stepped in to talk about the action-packed Infinity War. During the panel, he discussed shooting the two-part film with those aforementioned wild adjustments.

“I remember for Avengers, the Russo Brothers are like ‘so you’re just standing here, and you’re fighting this guy and just do whatever’ and I’m like, ‘okay, who am I fighting?’ And they were like ‘well, we can’t tell you because it’s a secret.’ I’m like, ‘okay so what does he look like?’ And they’re like ‘well, we can’t tell you because that would give it away, so I’m like ‘how big is he?’ ‘Well, we can’t tell you because that would give it away.’ So, I’m just standing there punching the air for 15 minutes and when I took the job I didn’t think that’s what I’d be doing. I’ve gotten used to it now,” he said.

Hulk Smash, Hulk Leak

Holland isn’t the only Marvel star to accidentally drop spoilers. Mark Ruffalo nearly spoiled the ending of Infinity War during a 2017 interview on Good Morning America. “In this next one, ha — everybody dies,” he says. He started to say the word “half,” but he caught himself before disaster struck.

Avengers: Endgame will be released on April 26 in both IMAX and 3D.
