Stan Lee’s Surprising Thoughts On Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
Published on June 8, 2018

Taking up the Spider-Man role can be tough for any actor. They don’t want to stray from what makes the character great or disappoint fans. Most of all, they don’t want to disappoint Spider-Man’s creator, Stan Lee.
Lee’s Opinion On Latest Wall Crawler
After Tom Holland debuted as the infamous web-slinger in Captain America: Civil War and starred in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Lee took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Holland’s performance. Lee, who co-created the character in 1962, wrote he simply adores Holland’s portrayal. “I think @TomHolland1996 is a great Spider-Man. He is the exact height and age I envisioned when I first wrote Spider-Man,” he said.
As expected, Holland was honored with his admiration. “Thanks very much, Stan. It all started with you, sir. Looking forward to catching up soon, bud,” he replied.
Lee’s Favorite Web-Slinging Movie
This doesn’t mean that Lee isn’t fond of former Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Speaking to Comicbook.com, he’s a fan of both actors. “Maybe it’s an easy role to play. I don’t know,” he jokingly told the website.
When it comes to his overall favorite superhero film, Lee loves Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man. “I think my favorite comic book movie was the first one that was such a hit, the first Spider-Man. After that, everything else seemed easy,” he said on Facebook.
Holland To Shed Costume
Holland will return as Spider-Man in the untitled Avengers 4, which comes out on May 3, 2019. He’ll continue his web-slinging adventures with the Spider-Man Homecoming sequel on July 5, 2019.
Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Holland will star in the war movie Beneath a Scarlet Sky. The film is based on the 2017 book by Mark T. Sullivan. He’s also set to portray young Nathan Drake in the film Uncharted, based on the video game franchise.
