Ever heard of WE Day? It’s an incredible social justice event hosted by the free service WE Schools. Created for learning centers that implement social initiative programs, WE Day encourages the youth to take a stand for a cause that they believe in. Read on to see why Selena Gomez chooses to join this celebration of social good.
Do Good, Feel Good
Gomez won’t be the only star shining at the event. The gaggle of celebs that are featured at WE Day will include huge names like as Chance the Rapper, will.i.am, Natalie Portman, Joe Jonas, and Meghan Trainor.
The feel-good event touts itself as “the greatest celebration of social good.” Neil Patrick Harris will have the honor of hosting WE Day at The Forum in Los Angeles on April 25, 2019.
Be The Change
Selena Gomez is a huge champion of WE Days and its mission to support youth social justice initiatives. She stated, “Every year, WE Day leaves me feeling inspired and hopeful.”
Gomez has been an avid attendee of WE Schools’ gala for a long time. Last August, she spoke about her kidney transplant at WE Day. “As maybe some of you know, I had a kidney transplant this year and so many people from across the country reached out and they offered their support.” she shared.
Join The Cause
Gomez has not taken her stardom for granted and her fans support her mission to make a positive change in the world. “They reminded me how lucky I am to have a platform where I can share with you guys and I can pay the love forward,” she said.
Not too mention, it gives her a great excuse to catch up with all of her celebrity friends. Must not have been too bad running into famous pal Jennifer Aniston at WE Day last April!
