NSYNC Members To Discuss Possible Reunion Plans

’90s kids have been craving for an NSYNC reunion since their breakup in 2002. At Coachella, everyone except Justin Timberlake joined forces alongside Ariana Grande on stage. According to Lance Bass, there’s a chance for more NSYNC in the future.
I Want You Back
Talking to Variety, Bass discussed how special that Coachella performance was to the other members. “[Coachella] was incredible and it was a big moment for NSYNC. We hadn’t performed that song (“Tearin’ Up My Heart”) with that choreography since 1998, so when Ariana told us she wanted to do that song, we were like, ‘We have to re-learn that thing.’ It’s amazing how the moves and harmonies came back so quickly,” he told the publication. The group joined Grande as she performed the hit song “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored.” That song samples NSYNC’s “It Makes Me Ill” from their 2000 album No Strings Attached.
When it came to the band possibly getting back together for good, Bass gave a surprising update. “We haven’t talked about what the next step is, but I know we’ll sit down during the summer together and figure it out,” he also told Variety. Timberlake couldn’t make the performance since his world tour was coming to an end around that time.
No Strings Attached
Over the years, NSYNC has been making random appearances to keep their fans happy. In 2013, they rejoined to perform a medley of the hits “Girlfriend” and “Bye Bye Bye.” Following that performance, Bass let fans know that the group wasn’t planning on reuniting any time soon. Getting ready for that performance was a bit challenging. While their special performance was rumored, they had to keep everyone guessing. “We had to perform in the middle of the arena, so there was no way of getting us out there without being seen. So they dressed us in big ole hoodies to pretend we were the stagehands. So we would push out the stage and do all the stagehand stuff until we got to the area and hid out beneath a staircase,” Bass told Associated Press.
In 2016, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick co-starred in the zombie movie Dead 7, which premiered on SyFy. The film also includes members of Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and O-Town. Last year, the band reunited to gain a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This I Promise You
Nostalgia is something that has led to various reunions over the year. In 2008, New Kids on the Block shocked fans with their first shows since 1994. Since their reunion, the five-piece band has been playing all over the world. BBMak, Spice Girls, and TLC are also among those riding this nostalgia train to the bank. Bass is also joining the fray as the host of the Pop 2000 tour, which began in 2018. This tour includes O-Town, Aaron Carter, Ryan Cabrera, and Tyler Hilton. For this tour, Bass is known for joining O-Town on stage to perform some NSYNC classics.
If NSYNC decides to reunite, what would be the situation with Timberlake? Since their breakup, he’s become a solo superstar with 10 Grammy wins to his name. With so much on his plate outside of music, could he possibly skip out on the reunion? The aforementioned Spice Girls had this happen when Victoria Beckham opted to not join their recent reunion tour. Her booming fashion business is the reason for her skipping out.
Whether Timberlake joins or not, an NSYNC reunion would equal big bucks for everyone involved. It wouldn’t be a shocker to see this potential trek hit up sold out stadiums across the country.
