Basketball superstar Kobe Bryant is being applauded on social media after he did a Facebook Live session, sharing his major tip for motivation. It came about after his daughters won a fourth place trophy in a basketball tournament and were so upset that they didn’t even want to take the trophy home.

According  USA Today,  his words of inspiration came about because his daughters were annoyed at having to stay longer at the basketball tournament in order to receive the fourth place trophy. They didn’t even want to accept it. Bryant would not accept this attitude, however. “You take the fourth place trophy, you put it up right where you can see it, and when you wake up in the morning, you look at the trophy and you remind yourself of what you’ll never win again,” he told them.

Bryant participated in the live broadcast to announce his participation as a board member in Los Angeles’ 2024 Olympic host proposal.

This does not come as a surprise as the five-time NBA champion with the L.A. Lakers is known for his legendary “Mamba Mentality” which he described as “a constant quest to try to be better today than you were yesterday.”

In the past, he has also said that the Mamba Mentality also means striving to “be the best version of yourself.”

During his Facebook Live interview, Kobe mentioned his excitement about joining the board of commissioners and plans to have his kids ready for the Olympics. Yahoo! Sports quoted Bryant as saying, “I’ve convinced my 14-year old daughter to start training with me at 5 o’clock in the morning.”

His admirable mental attitude sets an example for today’s sports enthusiasts and teaching his kids “the fun inside the process of losing” would make a great motivation to be inspired and do better.
