‘Jurassic World 3’ Could See A Surprise Appearance Of Original Cast Members
Published on June 13, 2019
Jurassic World 3 will continue the dinosaur madness when it hits theaters on June 11, 2021. Last year’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom surprised fans with the appearance of Ian Malcolm from the original trilogy. Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler might not be far behind for the new film.
Bringing Back Some Familiar Faces?
At the Rocket Man red carpet, actress Bryce Dallas Howard spoke to MTV News about Jurassic World 3. After Jeff Goldblum’s cameo, everyone’s assuming that Sam Neill and Laura Dern might return. What did Howard have to say about the situation? Well, she’s excited about possibly sharing some screen time with the original cast “Yes, very much so. I don’t know what’s been confirmed or whatever, but I’ll blink if it’s happening…maybe…,” she said.
Only One Cameo For Now
When it came to Fallen Kingdom, writer Colin Trevorrow didn’t want everyone coming back at once. “We felt like this was Malcolm’s return. This was his… let him have his moment. I feel that way about everyone, especially Laura [Dern], in that she never got to have her own movie. That identified as being something that’s important. I feel like this moment with Goldblum, because he had this very clear set of ethical questions that he was able to pose for everyone, we just wanted to put the spotlight on him,” he told the MTV podcast Seen It, Spill It. Goldblum’s performance in the 1993 film earned him a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best Supporting Actor. The actor lent his voice for the simulation video game Jurassic World Evolution. Trevorrow is hoping that Dern and Neill could show up on set.
Goldblum Teasing Another Appearance?
When it came to Goldblum’s return, he had some time to play around with some options. “I had a couple of ideas, and changes, and talked to Colin Trevorrow over the phone — he was in London, and I was in Los Angeles — and had a wonderful conversation, for a couple hours, it was very creative. He included a couple of my ideas, and we collaborated. And then I got to London a few days before I started to shoot, and did something similar with J.A. Bayona, who was very available and passionate and focused about it. He had ideas that were in alignment with what I talked to about with Colin, and we worked on it and changed a couple of other things. It was a very creatively nutritious experience,” he told CBR. Goldblum previously worked with Trevorrow on a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep.
Will Goldblum make another appearance for Jurassic World 3? It’s up in the stars right now. “I’m so grateful and feel so lucky to have been gifted with all the experiences I’ve had with this story, that if nothing were to happen, I’d be entirely satisfied. But it’s all been thrilling, and if I could contribute in any way, however humble, I’d be delighted,” he also told CBR.
It was recently reported that Jurassic World 3 secretly filmed in Ireland back in February. This will be the final chapter of the new trilogy, which began with 2015’s Jurassic World. Both Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom have earned nearly $3 billion worldwide combined. This summer, a Jurassic World short will hit theaters, and it’ll introduce a brand new dinosaur named Nasutoceratops. This short will be running before the forthcoming Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw. That’s not the only Jurassic World event taking place this year. Lego will unveil a miniseries titled Lego Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar. This 13 episode miniseries, which arrives later this year, will take place three years before Jurassic World.
