Hey, Whatever Happened To Jessica Simpson?
Published on April 30, 2018

Jessica Simpson once wanted to love you forever. Now, the Texan has been very quiet in the music scene. Don’t worry, though, because she’s having a blast in her new chapter in life. We look at why she’s been in hiding from the public eye for the past few years.
No Egos Here
Along with ex-husband Nick Lachey, Simpson became a household name with Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Nowadays, she settled down with someone that’s not trying to grab the media spotlight. In 2014, she married retired football player Eric Johnson. The pair got engaged months after they met back in 2010.
Mother Of Two
Having kids can keep celebrities away from such a fast-paced lifestyle. For Simpson, her two children are what motivates her. In 2012, she gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew. The following year, she welcomed her son Ace Knute. Being a mother has been more rewarding than anything she’s accomplished in her music career.
She’s A Little Bit Country
Like many pop stars, Simpson needed a change. In 2008, she put her foot in the country world with her sixth studio album Do You Know. Even though the album gained less than desirable reviews, it was her fourth album to debut in the top 10. Simpson hasn’t given up on music, though. She’s been working on album number seven with Linda Perry.
Line, Please
In the early 2000s, almost every pop star was starring in their own film. Simpson caught the acting bug with her portrayal of Annette Burkhart in That ’70s Show. After her starring role in 2008’s Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous, Simpson simply gave up on acting. She’s much happier being herself on several reality shows.
Work That Runway
Recently, Simpson has been focusing more on her fashion line. Launched in 2006, the Jessica Simpson Collection has brought in major cash for the star. In 2011, she became the first celebrity to make $1 billion in revenue from their own clothing line. It’s safe to say she’ll be financially secure for a long time.
