While Avengers: Endgame is coming close, Disney+ is already mapping out their forthcoming original programming. Many beloved stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will find themselves hitting the small screen. Hawkeye will be joining fellow Avengers Scarlet Witch and Falcon with his own TV series.

Passing The Torch

The forthcoming Hawkeye TV show will find Clint Barton training Kate Bishop to be the new Hawkeye. Jeremy Renner will reprise his longtime role of Barton in the show. In the comic books, Bishop is an original member of the Young Avengers. She gained the Hawkeye moniker from Captain America after Barton’s temporary death. Unlike this forthcoming TV series, Bishop didn’t get her training from Barton. After being attacked in Central Park, Bishop decided to train in physical combat. During this training, she picked up some strong archery skills.

Bishop is the third person to use the Hawkeye moniker after Barton and Golden Archer. In 2016, Bishop had her own series, but it was canceled after 16 issues in 2018. Barton and Bishop have teamed up on numerous occasions in the books.

Is Bishop Already Here?

While many await for Bishop’s live-action debut, it may be coming sooner than later. In the Avengers: Endgame trailer, Barton is shown training someone in archery. There’s been a ton of speculation that this could be Bishop. On the other hand, it could simply be his daughter Lila. She made her onscreen debut in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Switching Things Up

One major thing surrounding Hawkeye in Avengers: Endgame involves his transformation into Ronin. In the comic books, Barton discards the bow and arrow and uses swords under the moniker.  When asked about it, Renner simply brushed it off. “I can’t get into the theories…I know [Ronin] is in the comics, but otherwise I don’t really know anything about that stuff,” he told South China Morning Post.

Avengers: Endgame is already in theaters. The forthcoming Hawkeye show has no release date just yet.
