Are you a Donnie Wahlberg fan? If so, you’ll probably love him even more when you find out just how generous he can be. The Walhburgers star is making headlines for the generous tip he left a local Waffle House waitress, and the reason behind his altruistic action.

New Kid On The Block

Donnie Wahlberg has been a celebrity for decades. As an acclaimed singer, songwriter, actor, record producer, and film producer, he’s managed to keep himself extremely occupied over the years. Although he’s best known for founding the legendary boy band New Kids On The Block, he’s also the co-star of the hit show Walhburgers alongside his famous brother, Mark Wahlberg.

Donnie has also been featured in various films, including the Saw series along with Dreamcatcher and The Sixth Sense. He even starred in his own reality television series Donnie Loves Jenny about his relationship with this beautiful wife Jenny McCarthy. Needless to say, the man is filthy rich, but that doesn’t stop him from giving to those in need. He even tweeted that “Until you’ve walked in the shoes or felt the pain of another human being – don’t judge them, dismiss them or presume to know their struggle.”

Waffle House Fairy

In July 2017, Walberg started his Waffle House goodwill tour in Charlotte, North Carolina on a trip with NKOTB. When the band decided to stop at Waffle House for breakfast, the employees had no idea what was in store for them. After Wahlberg finished eating a delicious meal of steak, eggs, and bacon, it was time to pay the bill. Except he decided to tip the waitress $2,000 on a bill that only cost $82.60.

He posted a photo of himself with the lucky Waffle House staff on his Facebook with a heart-warming caption. He shared, “My mom waited tables, and my dad tended bars – for years! So, when I walk into a #WaffleHouse, and the staff treats me like a king, you better believe I treat them like queens!” The Facebook post quickly went viral, gaining more than 1,400 shares and more than 1,000 comments. But Donnie the Waffle House fairy was not done yet.

Donnie Strikes Back

On November 25, 2017, Wahlberg decided to give back in an unexpected way to a local waitress at a Waffle House restaurant in Lynhurst, Indiana. He had just taken his son to a basketball game to watch the Celtics play the Pacers in Indianapolis. Since his favorite team, the Celtics, was victorious, Wahlberg decided to celebrate with a festive meal. Enter waitress Kassandra Rhea. She had only worked at the breakfast chain for three months, and surprisingly, she didn’t even recognize Wahlberg when he came into her restaurant.

Kassandra’s coworker clued her in about Wahlberg’s celebrity status. Even then, she stated, “I just treated him like a normal, everyday person because that is what he is. He just has a big name.” But when it came time to pay the check, Wahlberg left a gigantic service charge for her.

In response to the experience, Kassandra wrote on her Facebook that Donnie “is the nicest person ever. Hes super sweet. Said it was the best Waffle House experience and tipped me 1,000. 600 for me 200 for my cook and 200 for my other server.. This was the greatest thing he could have ever done. Im so blessed that he did that. He just made things so much easier for me. Thank you so much Donnie Wahlburg. [sic]”

Although the actor is busy filming his television shows Blue Bloods, Wahlburgers, and Rock This Boat: New Kids On The Block, it’s extremely moving that he still finds the time to give back.
