Courteney Cox Reacts To Being Called Caitlyn Jenner
Published on December 26, 2019

Courteney Cox ruled the ’90s as one of the main stars in NBC’s hit sitcom Friends. While the show ended 15 years ago, the Alabama native still has fun in Hollywood. Recently, fans accidentally mistook her for Caitlyn Jenner. Fortunately, her response was hilarious.
They Look Kinda Like Twins
Comedian David Spade posted a photo of himself and Cox to celebrate his show Lights Out with David Spade. Fans in the comments section instantly thought Cox was Jenner. “You know a show is about to hit rock bottom when they bring katlyn jenner on…… oooooooof,” Instagram user dockrooster said.
After seeing the comments, Cox decided to address the mixup on her Instagram. “@davidspade posted this pic, now I really didn’t think I looked like myself but this was surprising,” she said while sharing Spade’s original post. Cox took it one step further by sharing a photo filled with comments mistaking her for Jenner. To end things, Cox posted a side by side photo of her and Jenner with the caption, “Alright … I can see it.” Former Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston couldn’t help but laugh at the situation. “You’re hilarious. Oh my GOD I love you,” she said in the comments.
You’re Not Them?
Cox isn’t the only celebrity to be mistaken for someone else. For example, actress Isla Fisher often gets mistaken for Amy Adams at various events. One person who got things wrong was singer Lady Gaga, who met Fisher at an after-party. “There was Lady Gaga, and she’s heading right toward me, and she says, ‘Thank you. Your performance in American Hustle, Amy, was—‘ And I’m thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s Lady Gaga. I love her so much. I don’t want to tell her the truth’,” Fisher said on a 2017 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. In 2016, Adams and Fisher worked together for the first time in the drama Nocturnal Animals.
Actress Zooey Deschanel has been mistaken for singer Katy Perry ever since “I Kissed a Girl” was released. As expected, Deschanel was bothered by the constant comparisons at red carpet events. “It’s a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike,” Deschanel told MTV back in 2009. “I have met her before. She seems like a nice person. I’m happy that she’s famous enough now that she’s not going out and being mistaken for me.” Since then, Deschanel and Perry have become good friends.
All About Courteney
With the Jenner comparison out of the way, Cox can continue focusing on her busy schedule. She’s currently working on the second season of 9 Months with Courteney Cox. Debuting back in January, the Facebook Watch docu-series focuses on the trials and tribulations of pregnancy with 10 different couples. “Courteney has been such a joy to work with. She is so passionate and dedicated to everything she does. She is so invested in the families and the stories we are telling. She’s also been incredible with using her platform to bring attention to our show, which really brought people who might not have ordinarily watched it,” showrunner John Henshaw told The Pride LA.
Cox, who has a daughter with ex-husband David Arquette, was instantly drawn to the series’ premise. “I can’t imagine a more relatable subject matter and I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to participate in such a special show.” As of this writing, season two of 9 Months with Courteney Cox has no official release date. Cox told People. Cox will also appear on an upcoming episode of Modern Family. In the episode, Cox, who will play herself, will meet the Pritchetts at a celebrity bowling tournament. It’ll be interesting to see who Cox will get mistaken for next.
